Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

I was coerced into seeing this film by a friend of mine who doesn't frequent the cinema, so I thought I'd go along with it. Beforehand, however, I stated my piece about this film being for angst-filled fifteen-year-olds who have temper tantrums. Oh, how wrong I was.
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is based on a novel, telling the story of a 14-year-old girl who wants a cool birthday party, a smaller nose and a boyfriend. Prepare the enter the world of the angst-filled teenage girl, along with its ups and downs, trials and tribulations. Georgia Nicolson helps us to relive those critical moments when everything hinges on how cool you appear and how it can all go wrong just by dressing in the wrong costume at a fancy dress party... (hint - when attending a "cool" fancy dress party, avoid dressing as a stuffed olive...) That said, it made for pretty amusing opening credits. Okay, the plot is mediocre, but what it lacks in storyline, it more than made up for with characters, twists and humour. I laughed out loud the entire way through, sometimes breaking the silence with a snort or a giggle. I found myself thrust back into the obstacle course that is a teenagers life and loved it. I was easily able to relate to this film, it was perfectly balanced with emotional moments and funny moments, which meant that the audience was made to respond personally. Great film, great cast and brilliant humour, all packed together with a fantastic ending. Watch it with a friend or a mum and see how your teenage angst compares!
